Kristy Day has successfully completed a number of design projects for Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, South West Region over the last 10 years.
We engaged Kristy to develop a series of wayside signs for the Balloon Cave walking track at Carnarvon Gorge section, Carnarvon National Park. The design brief specified the signs to feature illustrations that depicted the key themes described in each panel.
Kristy came out to Carnarvon Gorge for a site visit, listened to our requests and offered us valuable advice on what would work best for the design. Within two weeks we had received draft concepts. The final product being a series of stunning signs featuring exquisitely detailed illustrations, combined with supple and bold sign designs, which enrich the words and complement the landscape setting of Balloon Cave.  We are more than happy with the result; the signs are commented on and complimented by all whovisit the site.
Kristy’s designs and illustrations beautifully capture the essence of what is Central Queensland landscape.

‘I have known Kristy Day and worked with her for many years. Kristy has provided support and a high level of professionalism on a variety of natural resource management projects. She is a special and unique person as she prides herself on delivering an excellent product that meets the needs of her clients.
Kristy is organized, efficient, extremely competent, and has an excellent rapport with people of all ages and backgrounds including her work with Indigenous Australians. Her communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent and her response to queries is always prompt. During the many publications that we have collaborated on, we have always managed to meet various timeframes, some of which I thought seemed unrealistic at the time.

I highly recommend Kristy Day Graphic Design for her unique approach and her professional manner.
“Enjoy the experience and let the world of Kristy Day Graphic Design take you on a creative journey” '.

Kristy is a great business partner! Over the past 10 years we have worked together on a number of interpretive projects and have enjoyed a strong partnership with our balance of skills.
Kristy’s skills in graphic design and illustration are a dream combination for her chosen work on interpretive displays, signage and other communication products. Kristy’s designs are full of movement and flow, asking to be noticed. Her illustrations – whether simple or detailed – bring colour and life to the text, or even speak for themselves. A versatile artist, Kristy seems able to tackle any design and illustrative task  with ease.
Kristy has worked with a variety of materials to design and produce imaginative 3-dimensional structures in her displays and has a good understanding of construction techniques and the way different materials work. She’s not afraid to try new techniques and is ever the optimist in overcoming challenges presented along the way.
Within her field of experience Kristy has strong project management skills. She sets herself (and others) high standards and tight timelines and works hard to meet them. Her ability to humour and communicate with co-workers makes her fun to work with, knowing that the job will be well done.

‘I have had the pleasure of engaging and working with Kristy Day as a contractor on many interpretive projects at IndigiScapes over the last few years. Kristy has consistently produced high quality interpretive material such as our popular kids audio tours, native botanic gardens signage and interactive display walls. Her knowledge and passion for the environment combined with her creative ability and willingness has ensured success with all of these projects. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kristy for any future undertaking she pursues’.

‘I have found Kristy can be relied upon to provide inspired, creative design for any print, sign or display project. Her work has always been sympathetic to the project brief and my needs as a client, and always completed on time at an affordable price. With a background in fine arts and illustration she has turned even the ordinary into something individual and special’.

‘I have worked alongside Kristy over the past year completing a few minor projects and one major project, Queens Park Environmental Education Centre. Kristy was highly recommended to me through another Council due to her interpretative skillset and design work. Her work communicates environmental messages in an innovative and interactive style, collaborating a large network of local artists, all of which met all the requirements we wanted to achieve through this project.
Kristy was a pleasure to work alongside and I could not recommend her work more. The professionalism she displayed in the journey of our creative education displays did not falter, and she delivered artwork that conveyed all our aims of the project. She has gone above and beyond and public complements on the creativity and design continue to be received for the Queens Park Environmental Centre to date’.

‘Since 2004 Kristy and I have worked together on a number of projects interpreting nature, culture and history. Kristy has always been fun and easy to work with, balancing creativity with openness to suggestions, making my job as a writer and project manager easy. I always enjoy opening Kristy’s first proof and seeing how she has visually interpreted a project – it’s invariably creative and generally unpredictable in the nicest possible way’.
